Troop 1444 and Pack 4444 were founded over 20 years ago by Brian and Heather Young to serve youth along the Wasatch Front. Their objective was to create a full Scouting program to serve young people of all ages, from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Over time, we added Venture Crew 2444 for older youth (through age 20) who want to pursue “High Adventure” activities. In 2020, we welcomed girls to participate in all of our Cub Scout, Scout, and Venture programs. In 2021 we launched Troop 3444, our Girls Troop. In 2025 we incorporated “Parents of Wasatch Front Scouting” as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization to serve as the Charter Organization and sponsor to our Scouting units.
We continue to grow and adapt with the goal of building character among the youth along the Wasatch Front, with our motto, “We are the difference!”
We draw youth from across the southern half of the Salt Lake Valley, including Draper, Riverton, Herriman, Bluffdale, Sandy, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, and South Jordan. We meet at the Corner Canyon Church in Draper, but we are a non-denominational Community Troop open to everyone! Our Scout Troops and Cub Scout Pack are youth-led, parent-sponsored and supported, and family-funded, and we welcome the involvement of parents and other adult volunteers.
